Abstract |
|
A radiophotoluminescentglassroddosimeter(GRD)systemhasrecentlybecomecommercially
available.InthisstudyweevaluatedwhethertheGRDwouldbesuitableforexternaldosimetricaudit
programinradiotherapy.Forthispurpose,weintroducedamethodologyoftheabsorbeddose
determination withtheGRDbyestablishingcalibrationcoefficientandvariouscorrectionfactors
(non-linearitydoseresponse,fading,energydependenceandangulardependence).Afeasibilitytestof
the GRDpostaldoseintercomparisonwasalsoperformedforeighthighphotonbeamsbyconsidering
four radiotherapycentersinKorea.IntheaccuracyevaluationoftheGRDdosimetryestablishedinthis
study,weobtainedwithin1.5%agreementswiththeionizationchamberdosimetryforthe 60Co beam.It
wasalsoobservedthat,inthefeasibilitystudy,alltherelativedeviationsweresmallerthan3%.Basedon
these results,webelievethatthenewGRDsystemhasconsiderablepotentialtobeusedforapostal
dose auditprogram. |
